About Emmanuel World Children Foundation Emmanuel World Children Foundation is a faith based, Non denominational, Non profit, Non-Governmental organization dedicated to the welfare and development of children and youth especially the less privileged ones. Our Strategies: Orphans and Vulnerable children development: As over 7 million orphans lives in Nigeria and over 1.8million are orphaned by AIDS, EWCF identified these orphans, mobilises support for them and provide the 6+1 support.
This we do through direct intervention and referral services and community support. Capacity building: The need to improve the capacity of persons prompts EWCF to develop series of training programmes for different target audience mostly stakeholders in children issues. The trainings and material is geared towards enhancing the capacity of people to provide qualitative and quantitative support for children to grow normally notwithstanding the race, colour, sex and location. Child’s rights promotion and protection: EWCF work in the fore front promoting the rights of children by educating, sensitizing and encouraging the public on the provisions of Childs rights act, while protecting the rights of the children by enforcing it using alternative dispute resolution and legal means when needed. Media outreach and Material production: EWCF uses the media to ensure the children get the best, such is a Television programmes titled “Child’s rights today”. Rural community mobilization: With over 60% of Nigerians living in rural community coupled with the inadequate developments which promote rural-urban migration of children and youth. EWCF involve in mobilising rural community for self help while mobilising development for the community especially structures that will keep promote children development. Children Fun and Participation programme: To ensure the proper growth of children, EWCF provides opportunities for children to explore their environment and develop their skills. Such programme include Retreat, camping, Competitions and Games. Children groups such as Emmanuel kids and Emmanuel Children cultural troupe gives the children opportunity to develop their talents and also air their voices to issue concerning them. HIV and Reproductive health. The sub-Sahara Africa is the most affected by HIV and AIDS, while children and women are the most affected. EWCF carry out different activities on reproductive health, HIV and AIDS with children as the main target group. Our Leadership: EWCF is led by a committed board of trustees made up of men and women of integrity. They are supported by the management team headed by the Executive Director. Our Sources of funding: EWCF sources of funding includes Donations from public spirited people, Grants, consultancy and fund raising activities.
